Your journey begins in Nairobi, Kenya’s lively capital where colonial charm meets modern luxury. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by your personal guide and transferred to Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel, an icon of Kenyan hospitality since 1904. Its tranquil courtyards and refined architecture offer a perfect retreat after your flight — a timeless pause before your adventure begins.

From here, fly north to Meru National Park, one of Kenya’s most unspoiled and captivating reserves. Your home, Elsa’s Kopje, is an architectural masterpiece named after Elsa the lioness, immortalized in Born Free. Perched on the rugged Mughwango Hill, the lodge seamlessly blends into the rocky landscape, with sweeping views over the Meru plains. This is the original home of George Adamson, and its spirit of freedom still lingers in the air. Game drives, river excursions, and bush walks reveal a thriving wilderness of rhinos, elephants, and over 400 bird species. End your days with sundowners overlooking the Tana River or a relaxing massage under open skies.

Elsa‟s Kopje is named after Elsa the lioness, made famous by George and Joy Adamson‟s biographical book and film “Born Free”. Elsa‟s Kopje remains one of the most elegant lodges in Africa, with one of the most spectacular settings. Invisible as you approach its home on Mughwango Hill, Elsa‟s Kopje blends into the rocky crags of the “kopje” (small hill), built above the site of George Adamson‟s original campsite. Every cottage is the ultimate, “room-with-a-view‟, uniquely designed and crafted, incorporating the natural features of the rocky hillside.

Activities include day and night game drives, bush walks, bush meals, sundowners, Tana River excursions, line fishing and massage.

This morning a scenic road transfer takes you to Samburu in a comfortable 4x4 land cruiser, arriving at Saruni Samburu for lunch. Perched on the top of the Kalama Mountains with an all-round view of Northern Kenya all the way to snow- covered Mount Kenya, Saruni Samburu is a design lodge that is introducing a fresh concept to a well-known safari destination. Built on the pristine land owned by the Kalama Wildlife Conservancy in 240,000 acres-large Gir Gir Group Ranch, it is only seven kilometers - and 20 minutes of exciting game drive - away from the Northern border of Samburu National Reserve, a celebrated elephant sanctuary.
