Highlights

Your adventure begins in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital of contrasts — where the rhythm of city life meets the call of the wild. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your personal guide and transferred to the Fairview Hotel, a charming, leafy retreat in the heart of the city. The evening is yours to unwind, refresh, and prepare for the incredible days ahead.

The following morning, fly north to the dramatic landscapes of Samburu National Reserve, where the red earth meets endless skies and ancient mountains. Your home, Elephant Bedroom Camp, sits gracefully along the Ewaso Nyiro River, shaded by doum palms and often visited by herds of elephants. Spend your days tracking the Samburu Special Five — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk — alongside classic safari favorites such as lions, leopards, and elephants. Between game drives, visit the Save the Elephants Research Center, where pioneering conservation work unfolds daily. Evenings at camp are peaceful and intimate — the air scented with acacia and the sky alive with stars.

Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast.

This morning you will be transferred to Wilson airport for your flight to Samburu, where you will be met by lodge guides and transferred to camp in time for lunch and, after getting settled, set out on an afternoon game drive with one of the lodge‟s knowledgeable guides. End your first drive with a sundowner from a scenic point in the conservancy. Afterwards, return to camp for a delicious dinner.

Spend the next two days looking for the many mammal species that grace the Samburu Reserve. Return to camp for lunch or enjoy a picnic - always a great treat! Here, where it‟s still, you can breathe deeply of the sun-warmed earth, smell the herbs that have been crushed underfoot by elephants and listen to the deep resonance of their song. Spend your afternoon relaxing at camp or visit the “Save the Elephants Research Center.

Overnight: Elephant bedroom Camp

Meal Plan: Full board

This morning a scenic drive (3 hours) takes you to Ol Pejeta Conservancy and to Kicheche Laikipia your home for the next two days. Lunch at camp then relax until afternoon tea is served. Venture out onto the rolling plains on a game drive to enjoy the wonderful array of game on offer. Game driving in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a rare pleasure with few vehicles in the wilderness zone. Upon returning to camp join other guests for a drink around the campfire or in the cosy lounge tent where you will join your hosts for dinner.

There are a range of activities to choose from during your three-day stay here including lion tracking, mountain biking, canoeing, game driving or take a walking excursion with one of our guides and a ranger. Walks range from 2-3 hours and can be adapted to suit your preference. Enjoy a picnic breakfast out on the plains before returning to camp. This afternoon one can explore the wilderness again on a game drive, visit the ranching program or the Wildlife Centre.

Overnight: Kicheche Laikipia

Meal Plan: Full board.

After a leisurely al fresco breakfast, we now fly to the extraordinary destination of the Maasai Mara. Scenically, it epitomizes the Africa of childhood imaginings: the lone Acacia tree against the cobalt sky, rolling plains that positively heave with life, the sluggish curves of the Mara River choc-a-bloc with hippo and crocs and the odd red "shuka" of a Masai herdsman who carry on their normal pace of life, largely oblivious of all the commotion around them.

During your stay you will follow the wildebeest migration. Nowhere in the world is there a movement of animals as immense as the wildebeest migration, over two million animals migrate from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the greener pastures of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya during July through to October. The migration has to cross the Mara River in the Maasai Mara where crocodiles will prey on them. This is one of the highlights as the animals try and cross the Mara River alive.

Overnight: Mara Ngenche Camp

Meal Plan: Full board

After breakfast, you will take your final scheduled flight back to Wilson Airport in Nairobi. From here you will follow through with your post trip plans or take your flight back home
