After a warm welcome at the airstrip, you’ll settle into your camp and enjoy a relaxing lunch before heading out for your first game drive. As the sun dips below the horizon, the Mara comes alive with dramatic sights of wildlife preparing for the night, creating unforgettable golden-hour memories.
Your second day is dedicated to exploring the Masai Mara in depth. With up to three game drives, you’ll have excellent chances of spotting the Big Five and witnessing the rich diversity of the reserve. For those seeking extra magic, optional experiences such as a sunrise hot-air balloon safari or a cultural visit to a Maasai village offer unique perspectives of both the landscape and the people who call it home. Each moment here combines adventure with authenticity, promising a true safari highlight.
Begin your adventure with a morning departure from Wilson Airport in Nairobi on a scheduled flight to the renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival at Ol Kiombo Airstrip, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver-guide, who will transfer you to the camp for check-in and lunch.
Later in the afternoon, you may choose to embark on a game drive. As the golden sun sets over the vast savannah, watch as wildlife begins to settle in for the night—often gathering in herds, offering a spectacular and serene end to the day.
Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.
Today offers the chance to enjoy up to three game drives, increasing your chances of spotting the Big Five—though leopards may remain elusive due to their solitary nature. A packed lunch for a full-day game drive can be arranged with your guide, depending on weather and road conditions.
You can enhance your safari with optional experiences at an extra cost, including a sunrise hot air balloon ride with panoramic views of the savannah, or a cultural visit to a local Maasai village for insight into their traditional way of life.
Enjoy your final breakfast in the heart of the bush before checking out of the camp. You'll have a game drive en route to the airstrip for your mid-morning flight back to Nairobi. Please note that late departures from the reserve may incur extra charges due to the 12-hour park rule.

Trip Exclusions
- All items of personal nature e.g. telephone call bills, laundry etc.
- Tips and gratuities to hotel, lodges, camp staff and driver- guide(s). Budget approx. $ 2.00 – $ 4.00 per person per day for lodge and hotel staff, $ 1.00 per bag for porters and $ 15.00 - $ 20.00 per person per day for driver-guides). Note that gratuities should be given as a reward of exceptional service and is at your discretion.

These Terms and Conditions apply to all safari packages offered by Zakale Expeditions. By booking with us, you agree to adhere to the following policies:
1. Amendment Policy
At Zakale Expeditions, we understand that travel plans can change. We strive to accommodate your needs while maintaining service quality.
Amendment Terms:
- Request Notice: All amendment requests must be made in writing via email to our official address.
- Timeline: Amendments can be requested up to 14 days before the scheduled departure.
- Approval: Amendments are subject to availability and approval by Zakale Expeditions.
- Fees:
- Amendments made 14 days or more before the trip will incur no additional fee.
- Amendments made less than 14 days before the trip may attract a processing fee of up to 10% of the total booking cost.
- Changes Allowed: Date changes, accommodation upgrades, and itinerary adjustments can be requested, subject to availability.
2. Cancellation Policy
We understand that cancellations can happen due to unforeseen circumstances. Our cancellation policy is structured to balance fairness for both clients and service providers.
Cancellation Terms:
- Request Notice: All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
- Timeline & Charges:
- More than 30 days before departure: 10% of the package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.
- 15-30 days before departure: 30% of the package cost will be charged.
- 7-14 days before departure: 50% of the package cost will be charged.
- Less than 7 days before departure: No refunds will be provided.
- No Show: If a client fails to appear for the safari without prior notice, no refund will be issued.
3. Refund Policy
Our refund policy ensures transparency and fairness while covering necessary operational costs.
Refund Terms:
- Eligibility: Refunds will only be processed for cancellations made within the specified timelines.
- Processing Time: Refunds will be processed within 14 business days after approval.
- Refund Method: Refunds will be issued using the original payment method used during booking.
- Non-Refundable Items: The following costs are non-refundable:
- Park entry fees
- Airline tickets (unless the airline’s policy allows)
- Travel insurance premiums
- Third-party activity bookings made on behalf of the client
- Force Majeure: No refunds will be provided for cancellations due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, or political instability.
4. Partial Payment Policy
Zakale Expeditions allows flexible partial payment plans to make travel planning easier.
Partial Payment Terms:
- Deposit Requirement: A minimum deposit of 30% of the total package cost is required to secure the booking.
- Balance Payment: The remaining balance must be cleared at least 14 days before the trip departure date.
- Failure to Complete Payment: If full payment is not received within the specified timeline, the booking may be considered canceled, and the deposit will be non-refundable.
- Payment Plans: Flexible payment plans can be arranged upon request and subject to written agreement.
5. Data Protection Policy
We are committed to safeguarding your personal information and ensuring your privacy.
Data Protection Terms:
- Data Collection: We collect personal data necessary for processing bookings, including names, contact details, and passport information.
- Use of Data: Your data will be used strictly for booking, processing payments, customer communication, and compliance with legal requirements.

- Zakale Expeditions does not sell or trade customer data.
- Data Storage: All personal information is stored securely and retained only as long as necessary for operational and legal purposes.

- You have the right to access, update, or request the deletion of your data.

6. General Conditions
- Travel Documents: Clients must ensure they possess valid travel documents, including visas and health certificates.
- Travel Insurance: We recommend obtaining comprehensive travel insurance before departure.
- Health & Safety: Clients are responsible for meeting all health requirements and complying with COVID-19 protocols if applicable.
- Liability: Zakale Expeditions is not liable for any personal injuries, loss of personal items, or incidents occurring due to circumstances beyond our control.
7. Acceptance of Terms
By booking a safari package with Zakale Expeditions, you acknowledge and accept these Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to modify these policies without prior notice.
