This 5-day safari offers a perfect blend of dramatic landscapes, rich history, and unforgettable wildlife encounters across two of Kenya’s most scenic regions—Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and Amboseli National Park. The adventure kicks off at the iconic Saltlick Safari Lodge, uniquely perched above waterholes that draw wildlife right to your doorstep. Here, you’ll enjoy immersive game drives, panoramic views of the Taita Hills, and a free visit to the World War II heritage museum, all while staying in a lodge renowned for its architectural charm and close-up animal sightings.

From the rugged beauty of Saltlick, the journey continues to the vast plains of Amboseli National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and sweeping views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Pick up from agreed pick up point and begin 3-to-4-hour journey west of Nairobi to Taita Hills wildlife sanctuary. Arrive at the gate where your entrance fees will have been paid an check in at the lodge with well a prepared meal. The sanctuary straddles the Southern Tsavo West National Park and is an important dispersal area and migrating corridor for wildlife between Tsavo East National Park and Tsavo West National Park and making it a highly valued tourism recreational area and of ecological importance. The topography is generally mountainous that offers breath taking landscape views of the Kilimanjaro, Pare, Uluguru mountains and the clusters of Taita Hills with a seasonal river dividing the sanctuary into valleys and lowland plains.

On this day you will have an Early morning and a late afternoon game drive. This game drives provide an ideal opportunity to view and photograph the diverse wildlife species within the sanctuary. The water holes near the lodges provides a wonderful opportunity to view animals at close proximity within the comfort and confines of the lodge. During the day you will enjoy the facilities at the lodge as well as a free tour of the World war 2 heritage museum.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and begin a 4-hour drive further west to Amboseli.
Upon arrival at the park the driver guide will help in clearing the entrance fees and proceed for check in at the lodge. After settling in, you’ll embark on your first game drive within the park. Amboseli is home to abundant wildlife, and this is your chance to spot elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and various bird species. The park’s open plains and swamps make for an ideal setting to witness wildlife in action, especially with the imposing Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop. After your game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and some rest, taking in the natural beauty of the park.

Rise early morning before breakfast enjoy a game drive within the park. Get a chance to see the scenic views of the vast African landscape, with the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro often visible in the distance if the weather is clear and the large herds of African elephants and its stunning views of Kilimanjaro, so be prepared for some spectacular photo opportunities. Later return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation as you unwind within the lodge and learn as much as you can about the local culture. In the late afternoon have a game drive which is optional depending on the client's interest. Diner and overnight at the lodge.

Rise early morning and enjoy your last breakfast out in the bush and later begin the drive back to Nairobi, which will take around 4-5 hours. The drive is scenic, and you’ll have the chance to reflect on your time in the parks as you make your way back to the city. Drop off will be as agreed before departure date.

These Terms and Conditions apply to all safari packages offered by Zakale Expeditions. By booking with us, you agree to adhere to the following policies:

1. Amendment Policy

At Zakale Expeditions, we understand that travel plans can change. We strive to accommodate your needs while maintaining service quality.
Amendment Terms:

  • Request Notice: All amendment requests must be made in writing via email to our official address.
  • Timeline: Amendments can be requested up to 14 days before the scheduled departure.
  • Approval: Amendments are subject to availability and approval by Zakale Expeditions.
  • Fees:
    • Amendments made 14 days or more before the trip will incur no additional fee.
    • Amendments made less than 14 days before the trip may attract a processing fee of up to 10% of the total booking cost.
  • Changes Allowed: Date changes, accommodation upgrades, and itinerary adjustments can be requested, subject to availability.

2. Cancellation Policy

We understand that cancellations can happen due to unforeseen circumstances. Our cancellation policy is structured to balance fairness for both clients and service providers.
Cancellation Terms:

  • Request Notice: All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
  • Timeline & Charges:
    • More than 30 days before departure: 10% of the package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.
    • 15-30 days before departure: 30% of the package cost will be charged.
    • 7-14 days before departure: 50% of the package cost will be charged.
    • Less than 7 days before departure: No refunds will be provided.
  • No Show: If a client fails to appear for the safari without prior notice, no refund will be issued.

3. Refund Policy

Our refund policy ensures transparency and fairness while covering necessary operational costs.
Refund Terms:

  • Eligibility: Refunds will only be processed for cancellations made within the specified timelines.
  • Processing Time: Refunds will be processed within 14 business days after approval.
  • Refund Method: Refunds will be issued using the original payment method used during booking.
  • Non-Refundable Items: The following costs are non-refundable:
    • Park entry fees
    • Airline tickets (unless the airline’s policy allows)
    • Travel insurance premiums
    • Third-party activity bookings made on behalf of the client
  • Force Majeure: No refunds will be provided for cancellations due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, or political instability.

4. Partial Payment Policy

Zakale Expeditions allows flexible partial payment plans to make travel planning easier.
Partial Payment Terms:

  • Deposit Requirement: A minimum deposit of 30% of the total package cost is required to secure the booking.
  • Balance Payment: The remaining balance must be cleared at least 14 days before the trip departure date.
  • Failure to Complete Payment: If full payment is not received within the specified timeline, the booking may be considered canceled, and the deposit will be non-refundable.
  • Payment Plans: Flexible payment plans can be arranged upon request and subject to written agreement.

5. Data Protection Policy

We are committed to safeguarding your personal information and ensuring your privacy.
Data Protection Terms:

  • Data Collection: We collect personal data necessary for processing bookings, including names, contact details, and passport information.
  • Use of Data: Your data will be used strictly for booking, processing payments, customer communication, and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Data Sharing:
    • Personal data will not be shared with third parties unless required for completing bookings (e.g., hotels, airlines, park authorities).
    • Zakale Expeditions does not sell or trade customer data.
  • Data Storage: All personal information is stored securely and retained only as long as necessary for operational and legal purposes.
  • Client Rights:
    • You have the right to access, update, or request the deletion of your data.
    • To exercise these rights, please contact us via our official channels.

6. General Conditions

  • Travel Documents: Clients must ensure they possess valid travel documents, including visas and health certificates.
  • Travel Insurance: We recommend obtaining comprehensive travel insurance before departure.
  • Health & Safety: Clients are responsible for meeting all health requirements and complying with COVID-19 protocols if applicable.
  • Liability: Zakale Expeditions is not liable for any personal injuries, loss of personal items, or incidents occurring due to circumstances beyond our control.

7. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a safari package with Zakale Expeditions, you acknowledge and accept these Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to modify these policies without prior notice.
